Viktor Vicsek / Limelight (HU) – Talking Heads
Event Introduction
As human beings, we are capable of numerous facial expressions through the use of several dozens of muscles. It enables us to show all kinds of emotions. When you look sad, I’m inclined to comfort you. When I laugh, I invite you to join me in laughing. Communicating without using words. These two spectacular heads also show countless emotions and react to each other. Unlike people, these Talking Heads don’t do it by means of muscles, but through light. Per head, some 4,000 individually controllable LEDs provide different facial expressions in various colors. The heads react to each other, and conduct conversations by means of light.

Viktor Vicsek
Visual artist and Limelight Co-Founder Viktor Vicsek started out as a VJ in one of the first VJ communities of Hungary in 2000. He worked as the lead software developer for the Media Technology Group of the Hungarian National Academy’s Computer and Automation Institute between 2006 and 2011. Viktor participated in creating numerous art installations, theater, and contemporary dance plays as interaction designer/developer. Since 2011, he has been mostly active in creating content for architectural and 3D object projection mapping. He has been working with light and projection for most of the last 20+ years. His animations have been projected on buildings and large-scale stage-sets around the world from New York to Sao Paulo and his work has been shown at light festivals around the world.
