Lux Helsinki – Information for residents

Lux Helsinki light art festival will take place 3.-7.1.2024 in Helsinki

Lux Helsinki presents a diverse range of different forms of light art in the centre of Helsinki from 3 to 7 January 2024.The works of the festival will also be on display at the city’s cultural centres (Kanneltalo, Malmitalo, Stoa and Vuotalo) and Korkeasaari Zoo. The event is organised by the Helsinki Events Foundation.

Lux artworks will be on display from 3 to 7 January 2024 from 17:00 to 22:00 (free admission). Lux Korkeasaari is open from 30 Dec–7 Jan 2024 from 10-19, and there is a separate entrance fee.

The works in the city centre are located in the following areas:
– Töölönlahti Event Park
– Kansalaistori
– Rautatientori (Railway Station Square)
– Senate Square
– Esplanad Park
– Erottaja Square
– Hietaniemi cemetery

Event arrangements in the region

The artworks and sound system will be built and tested from December 28, 2023 to January 2, 2024. The artworks will be disassembled after the event from January 8 to January 10, 2024. The artworks will be on site during the opening hours of the event from January 3 to January 7, 2024 daily from 17.00 to 22.00.

The event will be organised in close cooperation with the authorities, in accordance with the regulations on the organisation of public events and with a minimum of disruption. We apologise for any inconvenience this event may cause.
