Lux Helsinki – Information for residents
Lux Helsinki Light Art Festival takes place 6–11 January 2026 in Helsinki
Lux Helsinki presents a diverse selection of light art in central Helsinki from 6 to 11 January 2026. Festival artworks will also be displayed at Kanneltalo and in ten different galleries. The event is organized by the Helsinki Events Foundation and admission is free of charge.
Lux artworks will be on display daily from 6 to 11 January 2026 between 5 PM and 10 PM.
Lux Morning will be held on 8–9 January 2026 from 7 AM to 9 AM, offering a chance to experience selected artworks during the morning hours.
The central city artworks will be located in the following areas:
- Kansalaistori
- Lasipalatsi Square
- Narinkkatori
- Annantalo
- Lastenlehto Park
- Hietalahti Market Square
- Hietalahdenranta
- Alexander Theatre
- Old Church Park
- Erottaja Square
- Espa Stage, Esplanade Park
- Citycenter

Event arrangements in the area
Artwork construction and sound testing will take place from 2 to 5 January 2026. The dismantling of installations will occur from 12 to 14 January 2026. Light artworks will be turned on daily during the event’s opening hours, 6–11 January 2026, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Some installations will also be operational during Lux Morning on 8–9 January from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM.
The event is organized in close cooperation with local authorities, following public event regulations and aiming to minimize any potential inconvenience to residents. We apologize for any disturbance the event may cause.
